Hellaby murder: Sheffield man in custody after 60-year-old victim stabbed to death on industrial estate

A 60-year-old man was stabbed to death on a South Yorkshire industrial estate this morning – triggering a murder probe.

Police were called to the area near to the FedEx offices in Rother Way, in Hellaby, off Bawtry Road, at 9.39am today (November 2) to reports a man had been stabbed.

When emergency services arrived, a 60-year-old man was found in a critical condition. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

South Yorkshire Police has confirmed a 48-year-old man from Sheffield is in custody on suspicion of murder.

DCI Simon Palmer, leading the investigation said: “We are working hard to establish the circumstances of this tragic incident, which we know will be causing concern in the community.

“Our officers remain on the scene while we carry out our enquiries.”
